Nicole Houston nicknamed, as “Nikki” Reed is an American born movie actress born on May 17, 1988.She is also a famed screenwriter. It was in the year 2003 after the release of her debut film Thirteen she got popular. She also co-wrote the screenplay of the movie along with the director Catherine Hardwicke. Since then she has appeared in several films, the ones need to be mentioned are Lords of Dogtown and Mini’s First Time. She also played the role of Rosalie Hale in the film Twilight an adaptation a novel of same name on vampire romance for young adults by Stephenie Meyer.

Reed was born to Cheryl Houston, a beautician, and Seth Reed, a set designer in West Los Angeles, California, She also has an older brother named Nathan. Her father is Jewish and her mother is of Cherokee and Italian descent. Reed had a rather troubled childhood and a complicated home life. When she was just two years old, her parents divorced. Her mother raised her. She was attending the Palms Middle School and when she was 12, she grew emotionally volatile and rebellious. Her relationship with her mother got strained and she started respite to alcohol, drug and sex.Ultimately when she was 14 years old, she went for ‘emancipation’ and started living on her own. At that point of time she did not have the intention to be an actress. It was somehow Reed’s own life, which inspired the plot of “Thirteen” and therefore she and Catherine Hardwicke, worked on the screenplay of the movie and finished it within only six days. She was cast in the title role in the movie along with Evan Rachel Wood and received a great recognition in the movie world. After the movie Reed appeared in the Ellen DeGeneres Show and hosted several Award shows, which included the Young Hollywood Awards (2003), the Independent Spirit Awards Nomination Show and the West Independent Spirits Awards, both in 2004. It has been stated by Jason Mewes in a radio interview with Big O and Dukes of WJFK 1067, that he will be doing a movie called K-11 with Reed and Kristen Stewart and in it both Reed and Stewart will be featured as male characters.
